Apart from being able to achieve actual deep and REM sleep on short and long-haul flights alike (no small thing!), Emanuela Raiti is eager to take a deep dive into her family’s farm, Quantico winery, once she finishes her Bachelor’s degree this summer. Quantico is located on the northeast flank of Sicily’s Mt. Etna, in the village of Linguaglossa, which is about 600 m on the active volcano. So far, Emanuela’s role has mainly consisted of following the export/trade show aspects of Quantico’s business, using her multi-lingual faculty to be an ambassador for her family’s winery. Her warmth and genuine interest in wine are infectious. In the Fall, she looks forward to taking a more active role in the vinification process during harvest, in order to expand her understanding of the craft. As she will be flying in on 5/18, it’s thanks to her ability to doze anywhere that she will be joining us for this event.
