We're collaborating with our friends at Open Hearth Gatherings at Stitchdown Farm for a communal celebration of summer in Vermont!
✨ It's the gathering of your dreams ✨
Itching to escape the city and reconnect with nature? Want to eat a delicious meal cooked over an open fire, drink gorgeous wine, and be surrounded by breathtaking scenery while you meet new friends passionate about community and connection? This one's for you.
We're teaming up with our friends Aly + Judy of Boston Globe-featured Open Hearth Gatherings. Our pal, Andrew at Stitchdown Farm, will be hosting us on his family's picturesque flower farm in southern Vermont for a day of community and good food. Unplug and join us!
Open Hearth Gatherings was founded to help bridge the gap between farmers and folks like you and me; Aly + Judy bring us to the source of our foodways, helping us understand the labor associated with nourishment, and celebrating the life the land gives us with a beautiful meal cooked over an open fire. This day will begin with a tour of the farm; we'll spend the morning assisting the Stitchdown team with harvesting edible flowers, a beautiful activity that's also imperative to their sustainability. Then, we'll have a wine tasting featuring 3 different natural wines, led by our Education Lead, Marie-Louise. We will talk Natural Wine 101—what it means to drink, buy, and support Natural winemakers. While all of this is happening, an open fire will be roaring nearby as Aly & Judy cook a delicious meal for you to enjoy. You will have the opportunity to partake in cooking if you so choose!
About Open Hearth: From farmers, butchers, chefs, friends and family, to everyone in between, people and the community are what make our food experiences so special. Open Hearth Gatherings brings together everyone that participates in our food experiences into a gathering of the community and sharing a meal by the open fire. We celebrate not just the ingredients; we also honor the land and labor that goes into the process of gaining nourishment. Guests are invited to help with farm activities, maintain the fire, or simply relax and soak in the surroundings. Come as you are and let’s enjoy a meal together.
